Looking forward to a new year

I’m excited to be writing to you as OWL’s incoming President. I’m looking forward to another great year of OWL accomplishments!

I am fortunate to work with one of OWL’s original industry partners, Adrienne Graves, PhD, and she encouraged me to become involved with this special organization four years ago. I most recently served as the chair of OWL’s Finance Committee and am now pleased to serve the organization as OWL’s new President.

As an organization, OWL has grown tremendously in the past year. Looking forward, we’ll build on those accomplishments to expand our programs beyond our signature networking events. We’re looking for new ways to connect OWL members and for more opportunities to advance women in their careers – wherever they take our members. We’re also looking for more opportunities to collaborate with other industry organizations – such as Women in Ophthalmology – to find synergies with other support networks in the ophthalmic arena.

In our seventh year, we’re becoming a more mature organization. We’ve hired a talented new Executive Director and continue to be driven by a dedicated Board of Directors and terrific committee volunteers from across the organization.

To our members and industry partners, I want to say thank you. Your continued support and commitment are instrumental in our success!
