OWL Member Profile

Audrey R. Talley-Rostov, MD, of Seattle

Where do you work?
In a large multispecialty ophthalmology practice. I specialize in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery.

How long have you been in ophthalmology?
I have been in practice for 17 years.

What is one tip you find helpful in balancing work and personal life?
Be organized! Get up early and exercise! It helps to start the day and gives you energy for the rest of your day.

Who was the most influential person in your life as a child?
My grandmother. She was the only woman to graduate from her law school class and always told me that I could do anything and be anything.

Who is the most influential person in your life today?
There are several – my supportive husband, my circle of close friends, and mentors/teachers that I have had in ophthalmology.

What is your favorite family ritual?
Family holiday celebrations. Large dinners at Passover and other Jewish holidays where we get together with family and close friends (the family that we create). I cook and prepare the holiday meals with the help of our kids (three of them), my cousins and their wives, and some best friends.

What is your favorite part of the day?
The morning.

What do you like best about belonging to OWL?
I enjoy the opportunity to interact and meet other dynamic women in ophthalmology, both in the business and clinical sectors.

How long have you been a member of OWL, and why did you join?
Only 2 years. I joined because some friends told me about it and encouraged me to check it out.
